I’m an interaction designer that sits somewhere on the fence with product design. I like interacting with stuff rather than screens. I’m good at designing compelling interactions and making them work. I’m pretty good at graphics and printmaking. I also do OK as a musician. Most of my work so far has combined the three in different measure. For the past three years I’ve been doing research and studying for a PhD with Graham Pullin, ex-IDEO studio head, author and researcher. Together we’re known as Pullin & Cook, and our work is mostly about making synthesized speech more expressive. I’ve been based in the Product Design Research studio at Dundee University for the past few years. I’ve researched, freelanced, collaborated with my fellow residents and taught Interaction Design, Max/MSP, PureData and Arduino.
