01/12/2009 Hej! I've been a bit lacking in online presence for a good wee while now, so here's a retrospective rundown of the news of the past couple of months: - Design meets disability is a beautiful, thought provoking book written by my research partner and good pal Graham Pullin. It's bit of a manifesto from Mr. P; a call for Design (with a big D) to be involved more in designing for disability. It's also about the ways that disability can inspire great design that benefits the wider population. As well as contributions from folks like Vexed, Crispin Jones, Tomoko Azumi and Graphic Thought Facility, there's a chapter called Andrew Cook meets communication aids that's all about my ideas for. well. communication aids. It's available from good and bad book shops and at amazon, it really is worth a thorough read.
That's my spread! - I got my print portfolio together. Binding skillz put to good effect. Click the image for a larger montage - The Six speaking chairs are finally finished after three years of battling with Max/MSP and MDF. Videos and full descriptions of all 6 will be on the way soon. Meanwhile, here's a picture of them:
